Meet the Artists
"My lifelong passion for art has taken many turns and settled here in this perfect place combining glass, metal and color focused toward one of nature's treasures, the flower."
Scott Johnson was introduced to the magical lifestyle of being an artist as a child, as he worked with and learned from his father, who was a sculptor. After years of working with bronze and ceramic, Johnson chose to create in glass and metal.
Now, working together with his wife Shawn, the two artists derive inspiration from nature-- creating colors and shapes to enlighten and beautify the environments of their collectors.
In the studio, Johnson kiln-forms and cold-works the glass into contemporary free-form flowers in a wide variety of colors. Copper and aluminum are hand sculpted in flowing motion to compliment the flower shapes, then attached to formed metal bases.
I've just ordered my third arrangement of glass flowers from Scott Johnson. My husband gave me a bouquet of nine with the black base for Christmas two years ago. The bouquet featured wonderful green, red and white flowers. For our anniversary he gave me a chrome-based garden with an arrangement of spring colored blooms. I have thoroughly enjoyed collecting new flowers for holidays and other occasions and my friends always comment that in two years they have yet to see the same arrangement twice!
Have fun mixing up the color combinations and finding new places in your home that need a pop of color.
Also - enjoy getting your friends in the act! My bestie just ordered her first bouquet last week.
I smile every time I look at my bouquets and garden - what thoughtful gifts direct from the heart!
This sculpture looks pretty much as pictured - only better in reality, as the glass flowers catch the light well. The sculpture arrives with the base and stem in one piece, and the flowers separately wrapped. The stems are somewhat flexible. The flowers have small screws embedded in the glass under their centers, which easily and securely screw into the stems; the self-attaching feature allows for experimentation with color arrangement to taste, and the flexibility of the stems allow for a little custom shaping. One of the flowers arrived with the attached screw chipped off. It was quickly replaced by the vendor with no hassle or shipping costs.
Love, love, love these glass flowers. Scott Johnson makes a beautiful flexible product. I've collected different colors over the years, and love changing them out based on my favorites, my mood, my decor, and the seasons. You can also spray paint the base to whatever color you wish too: bronze, green, gold, white, black
